Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! I hope you are all surrounded with family and spoiled today 🙂
I’m going to be spending the day at my in law’s celebrating us Mommies and letting the kiddos swim. Before we head out I want to share with you the gifts I will be bringing to our get together.
For my mother in law I purchased a couple of scarves and a watch at the Charming Charlie’s that just opened out here. We had meant to go in there together on opening day, but we both ended up otherwise engaged. I also got her a few of her favorite Mary Kay products.
I also made her a gift bag to go with her gift…. Well, technically I didn’t make the bag at all. I simply decorated a plain brown bag. This gift bag also qualifies for this week’s challenge at FCCB.
Here’s a close up of the cricut cut detail. I love how the color on color came out when I added a little dimension. My cut was from Storybook Cartridge. My paper was DCWV The Gilded Orchard Stack.
Next is my gift to my sister-in-law. I had fun making her gift as it was my first time making sugar scrubs. I even got adventurous and created my own “flavor”!
The paper for my sister in law’s bag was DCWV Black Currant Stack. My cricut cut was this weeks free cut in the Cricut Craft Room. The letters were welded together form Gypsy Font Cartridge.
Some demensionals and a little bling brought the flower cut to life! I also used a pencil to roll the tips of my pedals upward a tad.
Last gift is for my husband’s grandma. As far as I know she has no pictures of us, and I thought it would be nice to give her one! I chose to give her a copy of the “old” pictures we took a few weeks ago. It’s one of the few pictures I have of the Hubby, and even more rare to have both of us in it!
The bag was really simple and has no cricut cuts. It’s two pieces of paper from DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies Stack.
The butterflies are pretty little embellishments I bought a long time ago from the Dollar Store. I tried to coordinate them with the butterflies already on the paper and lay them over. That way the butterflies had a real “popping” effect.
Now that my gifts (and bags) are done, I’m ready to go!
I really hope you all enjoy your Mother’s Day! I know I will as I sit by the pool enjoying a mimosa and some good company.
